Personalised care planned around you

Whatever level of care you need our first step is always to get to know you. What specifically do you need help with? What are your likes and dislikes? Who else is involved in your care? What times suit you best? And as we get to know you our managers will be thinking about who amongst our Carers might be the best personality matches for you. The process is very similar to the Steps 1-4 outlined on the Live in care tab.

There is no need to worry too much about whether the initial care agreed is 100% right for you as we review regularly, more frequently in the early stages, so fine tuning your ‘care plan’ is easy!

More Specialist Care

Some of our Carers provide more specialised care, whether that’s caring for dementia sufferers or those less physically abled – please ask us how we can help

Overnight Care

If you or your spouse have trouble sleeping, visiting the bathroom safely or are perhaps anxious alone at home at night, having a professional, empathetic Carer present on a waking or sleeping basis may be the solution. Whether supporting someone who suffers from insomnia or being on hand to minimise the risk of falls from frequent bathroom visits, we can provide practical support and invaluable peace of mind.

We know that caring for a loved one can be exhausting and stressful, so our overnight support is often used to alleviate the pressure on a spouse or other relatives juggling careers and care work too.

24/7 care

We understand that everyone requires a different level of care, so our 24/7 care package provides around-the-clock care for more vulnerable clients. Two to three Carers provide support in shifts so that the Carer is awake and alert to more demanding needs all of the time.

FAQs

Will I always have the same Carer?

We always try to allocate a regular group of Carers to each of our clients, with one or two regular Carers. We understand that it’s daunting to not know who is caring for you, so we ensure that you have met and are comfortable with the team of Carers you will have. This way, even if your regular Carer is off sick or on holiday you will always have met the Carer who calls in to see you.

How much will it cost me?

The cost will depend on your individual financial circumstances and the package of care you need. Some clients qualify immediately for the States of Jersey Long Term Care scheme, others need to self-fund in the short term and then LTC takes over. Alternatively, some clients need to pay for their own care until they have reached the LTC threshold on assessed care needs (currently about £56,000).

We are happy to talk to you and find out your specific needs, budget and aims to make the care you receive work best for you. To find out more, please contact us and we will arrange to pop in and see you for a chat and a quote. This is a free assessment with no obligation.

What if my needs change?

We understand that care is never straight forward and life can throw obstacles in the way. That’s why we’re flexible. We can increase or decrease your care packages to suit your needs, even at short notice.

All you need to do is call us to arrange a meeting or make changes over the phone.  Additionally, it is important to note that we always meet with our clients one month into starting their care with us, so we can assess and make changes as appropriate as well.

What if I don’t like my Carer or just want a change?

We appreciate that everyone is different and try to match Carers to clients subject to availability. We love to hear from clients so you don’t like the services of a particular Carer at any time, you simply need to call. We will always do our utmost to meet your needs. We always aim to solve your problem as quickly as possible, providing support for your current Carer to resolve the problem and keeping you and your family up to date with future options.

How do I know my Carer is trained and qualified?

All our care staff are required to complete mandatory training which is updated on a regular basis. In addition to this, nearly 75% of our Carers have additional QCF training. You can have peace of mind knowing all our Carers are of the highest standard and are eager to make you as comfortable as possible.

How do you check up on my Carer to see that they’re doing their job properly?

We operate with a higher ratio of Management to Carers than many firms, which puts us at a great advantage. This ensures that your needs are always being met or, even better, exceeded. A member of the Management team (two Care Managers, a Deputy Care Manager and a Senior Carer) are always available. They also regularly supervise Carer visits, and one of the four is on call 24/7.

Additionally, we operate with a computerised scheduling system which the Carers see on their work mobile phones. Carers scan in and out when they arrive at and leave your home and this shows up in the office, so we know that the Carer has visited you. The system also allows us to send the Carers notes regarding any changes in your needs for your next visit so you don’t need to worry.

CI HOME CARE

Your perfect care partner

As a Jersey-based business, we know the island inside out and are proud to be local. We have a sizeable team of Carers working on-island delivering Hourly, Overnight and Live-In Care and senior staff on-call 24/7. What this means for you is peace of mind. If your needs change – or there is an emergency such as the live-in Carer becomes ill – we can cover or vary your care within hours. No waiting for a replacement live-in Carer to fly in.

Our Live-In Carers either reside on-island or are a short skip away in France or the UK. Most are British so will be familiar with your favourite foods and TV programmes!

We are always committed to safeguarding our clients’ and Carers’ wellbeing, so we monitor all our Carers’ hours and our Live-ins usually work on nothing longer than 2-3 week rotations. We want you to receive the best quality care and looking after our Carers plays a large part in ensuring this.
